Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Shared Business Operations, the Vice President of Finance is responsible for ensuring company resources are aligned to support the overall strategic direction of the organization. Collaboration across the organization will be a key element to success in this role.They will be responsible for the overall management and design of the future state finance organization and the supporting systems. This individual will serve as the primary finance liaison and project advocate alongside counterparts from Human Resources, Supply Chain and IT and the Executive Steering Committee.
This individual will lead a large finance team with functional efforts in aligning policies, practices, and shared services operating models to drive the organization to a standard and digital set of capabilities. They will also be responsible for leading the finance implementation of a cloud-based ERP system unifying Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain and IT technology.

The duties and responsibilities below should be delivered on a consistent, accurate and timely basis while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Large scale business organization, process and technology project experience
  • Performance improvement experience (in healthcare providers preferred)
  • Manage the Finance & Accounting systems, operations and team.
  • Review accounting policies and procedures (including accounting software used) to identify opportunities for cost and time reductions, and future growth planning.
  • Responsible for the company’s budget process
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports comparing actual results to forecasts.
  • Assess current systems and practices for GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records.
  • Provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership on proper financing activities.
  • Respond to auditors’ comments concerning finances and operations and oversee required action to address deficiencies.
  • Deep financial business knowledge with ERP implementation experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to communicate and build sponsorship across corporate, regional and local lines of business
  • Demonstrates leadership and ability to meet key goals and milestones
  • Ability to identify, clarify, and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed
  • Ability to document and communicate the progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary

  • Familiarity with business process design concepts and principles
  • Deep functional knowledge of cloud-based ERP software. Configuration/development experience is not necessary, but knowledge of how functionality can be supported through technology is needed

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP.
  • Highly proficient with accounting softwares.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
  • Strong Analytical ability.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of previous work experience of public or government accounting experience, and demonstrate knowledge of finance, accounting and internal controls.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Cloud-based ERP experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Medhost, Lawson and cloud-based ERP systems is preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and ACL.
