My client is a NZ business that has transitioned into an offshore majority shareholder who has an appetite to continue the NZ success story and is investing heavily in other global markets to expand the reach of its business. The company has a complex manufacturing base and in NZ operates a significant operation not only to support its own offshore shoots but also as a 3rd party manufacturer. The company is relatively unique and due to its nature is one where people are down to earth and practical.
The role of Head of Finance will report in a vertical structure to the Group FC of global, based in the UK. However, as NZ remains a core business, this role also will have a leadership component whereby you can influence not only the NZ entity but the global operations. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead the shared services and reporting team
- Be an active member of the SLT in NZ
- Responsible for the statutory accounts and tax compliance
- Managing Group Cashflow and FX risk
- Supporting the business and Finance Business Partners
- Supporting the auditors in developing detailed audit plans and delivering the required information in a timely manner
- Supporting the GFC, Group Reporting Manager, and Group FP&A manager where required in the preparation of monthly and annual management reports and consolidated statutory financial statements
- Ad hoc analysis of performance and provide input around automation of accounting processes across the Group
To be considered for this role, my client is looking for the following attributes:
- A strong statutory reporting and consolidations background where you have led operations as the Finance leader
- An ability to communicate to onshore and off-shore partners
- Ideally strong excel skills
- Strong leadership skills where you can demonstrate an ability to influence at a senior level
- Commercial nous
- A self-starter who can work flexibly to account for international time zones from time to time.
