The Payroll Director will lead the overall operations of US payroll as we build our shared services model. This is a great opportunity to help set a strategic direction for a team and develop that team.
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, timeliness, and accuracy of payroll processing, and all associated deliverables; building out and optimizing our payroll platform and processes; effective vendor management; and leading a team of payroll and tax professionals.

  • Understand current payroll process and technology used in disparate business units and build strategy and roadmap to bring onto one platform enabling.
  • Build a Payroll Shared Service COE from the ground up.
  • Oversee payroll tax compliance and filings, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify payroll discrepancies or errors.
  • Stay updated on relevant tax and labor laws to ensure compliance in all payroll activities.
  • Prepare payroll reports and analyses for management review.
  • Lead, train, and mentor payroll team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Engage and influence standards for practices and procedures of financial controls related to payroll activities.
  • Interact with internal and external customers.
  • Manage allocation of people and resources for payroll.

What YOU Need

  • 10+ years of end-to-end experience in Payroll, Payroll Tax, or equivalent experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 5+ years of Management experience
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proof of experience managing complex projects in a large enterprise environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
  • Experience with Paylocity, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Preference Will Be Given To Those With

  • Strong experience managing a Payroll Shared Services department.
  • Strong change management skills, technology proficiency, systems thinking and quality orientation.
  • Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a changing environment while demonstrating agility and flexibility.
