  • The GBS Global Record to Report (RTR) Director is accountable for managing GBS for RTR activities including:
    • Ensuring GBS team’s adherence to defined processes and procedures
    • Establishing SLAs and KPIs for processes migrated to GBS to execute
    • Maintaining / updating / reporting process performance for GBS services
    • Working with the Controllers to establish the GBS RTR roadmap for migrated processes and delivering those processes
  • The GBS Global Record-to-report Director will oversee GBS and BPO teams whilst establishing functional objectives for them that are in-line with the Finance organization.
  • The GBS Global Record-to-Report director will work with GBS leadership on GBS wide improvement initiatives and drive a continuous improvement mindset within the RTR team, identify and driving productivity projects within the migrated processes while also supporting projects that are interdependent with other GBS towers

Overview Of Key Responsibilities

  • Builds and owns the RTR improvement roadmap for GBS owned activities
  • Defines and manages the SLAs between the GBS retained organization, BPO provider
  • Owns and reports on GBS RTR KPIs and SLAs
  • Manages key personnel reviews and any changes in key RTR GBS personnel
  • Owns GBS related RTR projects
  • Manages the execution of operational accounting activity across the RTR GBS team
  • Manages the execution of close, consolidation, and reporting processes within the RTR GBS team
  • Manages GBS RTR and BPO staff that are executing RTR activities
  • Liaises closely with the global Finance Operational Controller and key finance team members on the following activities:
    • Ensuring the integrity of consolidated financial statements and compliance with financial policies and procedures
    • Defining and managing SLAs and OLAs between GBS and Controllership for RTR processes
    • Identifying projects and improvement initiatives for inclusion on the overall RTR roadmap
  • Supports transition of record to report activities into GBS that are in scope for GBS service delivery.
  • Leads process improvement and transformation for GBS in scope activities for record-to-report processes and programs (on-going and future projects) across multiple global entities.
  • Identifies and helps drive resolution of GBS-related accounting issues that have an impact on the business and alerts the corporate controlling team of any issues
  • Supports the controllership with the operational implementation of new accounting standards, policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Provides input to the Operational Controller to define a strategic end-state that not only significantly improves the speed of the current close process, but also enhances control and governance mechanisms, increases transparency and reliability of data, is nimble enough to timely react to changes in the regulatory standards, is efficient and effective in its use of resources across locations and is well supported by a technology platform.
  • Leads benchmarking activities and continuous assessment of GBS process performance measures, driving measurable improvements over time
  • Provides excellent customer service to key stakeholders ensuring proper execution across the defined GBS service catalog for RTR
  • Drives continuous improvement through collaboration of thought, innovative ideas, and proactive behavior

Level Of Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Work Experience And Skills Required

  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience running accounting/finance operations in a shared-service or GBS model.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOX
  • Experience with SAP and Blackline is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Proven track record of process improvement
  • Proficient in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience in managing multiple projects at one time and strong data analytics
  • Familiarity with financial planning, forecasting and analysis processes
  • Visualization and communication skills (to a wide range of audiences both technical and non-technical) is required
  • Strong functional understanding of ADM’s operating structure desired
  • Experience with Power BI and large ERP systems (e.g. JDE, SAP, etc) a plus
