The Barangaroo South Shared Facility is an asset located in the Sydney Central Business District and has a TFA of circa 65,000 sqm. The Shared Facility is an infrastructure asset comprised of centralised plant, equipment, and amenities that supports multiple adjoining properties. The Shared Facility is governed by a Building Management Statement (BMS) and is administered by the Building Management Committee (BMC).
The Head of Shared Services is responsible for the overall performance of the asset and the management team. Considerable focus is required on asset strategy and thereby ensuring operating costs are competitive, and minimising risks to the client by managing and developing the onsite team. This is a critical role offering broad scope with areas of responsibility including financial, EH&S, operational, and strategic asset planning.
- Lead and mentor the onsite team and continually develop their strengths, skills and knowledge
- Ensure all staff and contractors receive site inductions and confirm all approved risk management and safety programs are adhered to
- Support the team in the preparation and renewal of maintenance and services contracts ensuring they comply with sustainable procurement policies
- Lead the team to develop effective and accurate asset plans, budgets and financial reports
- Actively manage the asset to meet sustainability performance objectives
- Make recommendations to the client in relation to capital enhancements for the asset, maintain the capital plan, and oversee all capital works in accordance with client requirements
- Oversee the commissioning of new or refurbished spaces
- You have an impressive background spanning operations management, with a trade or engineering qualification (highly regarded but not essential), supported by proven experience managing premium or A grade office assets.
- You can read and interpret engineering documentation, and have a strong understanding of all the technical aspects relating to a building (chiller systems, mechanical and electrical systems, BMS, Fire, etc.)
- A demonstrated ability to prioritize work within tight operational and financial deadlines is critical, as is a positive approach to meeting clients needs whilst managing tenant expectations.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills are essential, and you are able to interact confidently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
