We are currently seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller to join our team at Mariani Premier Group. As the Assistant Corporate Controller, you will support the Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer in managing various accounting functions to ensure the continuity of financial operations throughout the organization.

  • Assisting with implementing accounting policies and procedures
  • Developing and refining enhanced financial reporting
  • Managing the annual audit process
  • Having ownership of Mariani’s inter-company process encompassing all partner companies
  • Driving a “shared services” model of accounting for fixed assets and lease accounting
  • Collaborate across Mariani’s divisions/partner companies to comply with consolidated financial reporting requirements
  • Take ownership of the annual audit process by helping to manage auditor questions and data requests both at Mariani Premier Group (Corporate) and the partner companies
  • Perform various month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Provide oversight of the Mariani Premier Group accounts payable function
  • Assist in preparing budget vs. actual analysis and tracking budget variances
  • Drive the implementation of standard accounting policies and procedures across the various partner companies
  • Assist with software implementations such as Oracle NetSuite
  • Take an active role in establishing a shared services model for accounting for fixed assets and lease accounting, including working to help deploy the NetAsset and NetLease add-ons to Oracle NetSuite
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of financial data
  • Own the inter-company process by which enterprise costs are distributed to the partner companies and reconcile the inter-company balances on a regular basis
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Participate in department meetings and training sessions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in a professional Accounting and Finance role (CPA certification is a plus but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in managing financial statement audits and compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, including advanced data management functions
  • Ability to lead and mentor supporting team members
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide/receive constructive feedback
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn and navigate company software
