As the Senior Manager, Professional Services, you will build and manage the Zendesk Professional Services development center in Mexico City, Mexico. Responsibilities will include hiring, onboarding, retention, and mentorship of the next generation of Zendesk Developers within our Professional Services organization. This manager will lead a group of dedicated developers by bringing them together as a team to deliver high quality products for some of our most significant customers.
To be successful, we need an established manager who enjoys developing software, establishing processes, and working across multiple departments in various global regions. You must also be passionate about building and leading a development team with a continual focus on both quality and efficiency

- Recruit, onboard, and retain software developers and architects, while providing them with career mentorship
- Work across the global organization to establish, build and detail your SDLC processes and procedures in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Keep the team updated on significant development and business decisions
- Review code submissions, mentor and guide your staff throughout the process
- Influence good design and architectural decisions
- Proactively identify and minimize problems within the infrastructure and code base of your team’s applications
- Work with a sophisticated team where methodologies for delivering excellence and high availability software is everything
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement all aspects of the Mexico City development center, including but not limited to hiring, staffing, and all initiatives in alignment with the Zendesk’s Shared Services organization
- Achieve period-over period-improvement in billable utilization, efficiency, and quality targets
- Own development projects and efforts including scheduling, estimating, development, design, quality, and testing
- Provide insight to Zendesk Professional Services revenue and team utilization targets
- Passion for writing sophisticated and clean code
- 3+ years of direct management experience required with 5+ years of Professional Services Development experience
- Excellent coding skills in at least one programming language (Javascript, Ruby, and Python) with a desire to learn more
- Experience with SOP’s within full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations management
- Experience with RESTful and JSON API design and implementation approaches
- Experience working with US-based SaaS organization
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or MBA preferred
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish required
- Ability to travel domestically/internationally up to 15%
