Leeton Shire Council is seeking a Director Corporate /CFO, an integral member of our Senior Management Team.
As our Director Corporate / CFO, you’ll oversee critical areas including finance, information technology, governance and internal audits. Your role is pivotal in ensuring best practices, policy compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service. Additionally, you’ll actively engage in regional strategic planning and shared services initiatives with the likes of RAMJO (Riverina and Murray Joint Organisation of Councils) or neighbouring Councils.
You will manage the Directorate’s budget and help steer the Council’s Long Term Financial Planning and annual budget, make informed financial decisions, and explore opportunities for revenue optimisation. Oversee work program implementation in alignment with the Council’s Delivery Program and Operations Plan. Ensure compliance with regulations and take part in the Council’s overall direction. Address escalated requests, represent Council at key forums, and maintain media relationships while fostering a solutions-oriented customer experience. Contribute to workforce planning, staff development, and talent retention within the Directorate. Ensure compliance with regulations and oversee high-quality advice for decision-making. Implement modern project management practices, cultivate partnerships, and lead improvement programs.
To excel in this role, and to complement Council’s senior management team, you should possess relevant qualifications in finance / accounting, demonstrate strong leadership experience, exhibit excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and have a solid understanding of local government operations and compliance.
