As a member of the Executive Management Team, this role is responsible for providing vision, strategy and leadership for the development, integration and implementation of all information technology initiatives, including company-wide IT infrastructure, business systems and customer-facing technology solutions in alignment with business initiatives and long-term strategy. This role provides leadership, direction and development to the IT team and consultant resources to ensure effective planning, business alignment and service delivery.
Strategic Direction Setting
- Serves as an integral member of the Executive Management Team and educates C-level peers and the business at large about the benefits of integrated business services and facilitates consensus on business process standardization.
- Coordinates with business unit heads, IT leadership team and Product Managers to develop and implement a shared business service strategy based on strategic business objectives.
- Works with stakeholders to continually optimize governance and decision-making processes associated with business services.
- Determines the further scope of integration of business services and brokers consensus among executive leaders to implement it.
Services and Product Delivery
- Manages the portfolio of shared business services and oversees change management initiatives, business analytics, sourcing and contracting, etc.
- Determines and continually evaluate IT applications and utilization of in-house, outsourced and shared systems and platforms to be utilized in the company. Responsible for operational management of all IT systems and ensure high levels of client support and customer service.
- Monitors and evaluates user acceptance of IT platforms. Determine and execute on necessary actions to ensure high levels of utilization on IT platforms (software and hardware) to include but not be limited to training, communication, help desk initiatives and user support. If required, determine alternative systems solutions to ensure user acceptance and appropriate business application.
Staff and Leadership Development
- Provides ongoing support to the IT leadership team by acting as a sounding board in a business- and people-related capacity.
- Builds the next generation of leaders and contributes to company-level goals for talent development, diversity, and inclusion.
- Oversees the creation of a compelling employment value proposition to attract and retain critical talent.
- Demonstrates accountability and leadership to the mission and values of the Company, serving as a role model and mentor ensuring a highly effective corporate culture.
IT Functional Management
- Oversees strategic planning, talent management, IT budget management, performance management, communication, and functional coordination goals.
- Oversees the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise data without disrupting digital transformation and growth.
- Ensures appropriate IT infrastructure to meet business requirements. Determines hardware and software solutions aligned to requirements.
- Oversees the development of appropriate governance frameworks and mechanisms for the effective use of information and technology to create value and manage risk.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Technology required; Master’s Degree in applicable field highly preferred.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) and/or information technology preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible management experience in business and IT roles, including experience aligning business processes with technology to create organizational efficiencies.
- Tenure in a variety of public and private corporations, with a keen understanding of global business practices. Experience working in mid-market, private entrepreneurial organizations and/or multi-generational family businesses highly preferred.
- Ability to independently drive projects to completion, while also functioning effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to assess business alternatives to reach best practice solutions.
- Eye for continuous improvement.
- Considerable knowledge of business processes, management, financial planning and budgeting.
- Substantial experience and exposure to hardware and enterprise software applications.
- Tested business leadership acumen to effectively lead at all organization and board levels.
- Strong planning and project management skills and ability to apply these skills in effective working partnerships across organizational lines.
- Assertive counsel to team members and subsidiary leadership to assure alignment and clarity on strategy and goals.
- Excellent analysis, oral/written communication skills, including group facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership, influencing, and relationship-building across functions.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to customer service with a continuous focus on improvement.
- Self-starter and the ability to create an environment of continuous improvement (add value).
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
