The Associate Director of Financial Shared Services provides leadership, direction and vision in the development, implementation and delivery of a Financial Shared Services team consisting of Cash Application, Credit & Collections, Deductions Management, Accounts Payable and Travel & Entertainment. This position will set the strategic direction for the team, optimize costs, and continually work to improve internal and external customer experiences.
- Ensures the effectiveness of transactional areas of Finance (as listed above), maintaining a strong internal control environment, by setting overall direction and strategy.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for credit & collections, cash application, deductions processing, accounts payable, and travel & entertainment business processes and tools.
- Analyzes business processes and identifies opportunities for further improvement in both systems and processes, with an emphasis on quality, cash flow, efficiency, responsiveness, cost containment and standardization of work.
- Creates and publishes weekly/monthly Financial Shared Services metric dashboard(s).
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, and other functions’ responsibilities. Builds relationships across the company.
- Focuses on employee development, including providing opportunities for cross-training and ensuring positions are adequately backed up.
- Partners with the accounting department to ensure proper recording of assets and liabilities.
- Plays a key role in any related system implementation and/or acquisition integration.
- Ad-hoc analysis as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and/or financial business support services. Experience with ERP systems and previous implementation/integration experience a plus. Experience working in a CPG company would be ideal.
