The Record to Report (RTR) and the Project to Retire (PTR) Value Stream Owner is responsible for oversight of the RTR & PTR processes within the Magenta Services Center, including driving process improvement and commitment to outcomes and value across the end-to-end RTR & PTR value streams. RTR process involves the posting of period end reporting activities to the general ledger and reporting of financial results to internal and external stakeholders. PTR process involves the conceptualization, identification, creation/capitalization, depreciation, and eventual retirement and disposition of capital assets within our network supply chain and broader businesses. The RTR & PTR Value Stream Owner collaborates with other value stream owners and Business Partner Team leaders to ensure the RTR & PTR process is integrated with other business processes and systems.

  • Define and manage the RTR & PTR processes, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and KPIs for RTR & PTR processes to ensure consistent and accurate execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the RTR & PTR processes and enhance efficiency within the value streams, including the implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Business Partner Team leaders and value stream owners to ensure that the RTR & PTR processes are integrated with other business processes and systems and to develop and maintain strong relationships and drive issue resolution.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the RTR & PTR processes, including key performance indicators, risks, and issues.
  • Develop and deliver training and communication materials to ensure that stakeholders within the organization and value streams understand the RTR & PTR processes and related policies and procedures.
  • Identify and understand risks for VSO scope and design mitigating controls.
  • Manage and lead the RTR & PTR value stream teams, inclusive of hiring, training, and development.
  • Ensure a common end-to-end process design that is strictly governed by a set of clearly defined controls and advise the Business on the development of standards and business rules for process stewardship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role, and experience in a shared services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of RTR & PTR processes, including project accounting, asset retirement, decommissioning, financial accounting, and reporting standards.
  • Experience with asset management technology systems.
  • Experience with financial systems and tools such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Blackline.
  • Experience implementing ERPs such as Oracle and/or SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound business decisions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and driving performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving process improvement and optimization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of accounting regulations and standards, including US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Telecom or high-volume transactional experience (i.e., Wal-Mart, FedEx, UPS, etc.) preferred.
