As Global Product Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and leading best-in-class Period End Closing product line within Record-to-Report operations at the RSS supporting the APAC, EMEA and Americas business. The role has a strong focus on operations strategy, people management, compliance and operational excellence while role modeling the Roche Values and Operating Principles, while this role will be responsible for ensuring the accounting assurance for the RSS site and as the GM’s first point of contact for all accounting topics.

This leader will be a member of the R2R Global Leadership Team, reporting to the R2R Global Business Lead and will be expected to contribute to the development of the strategic goals and objectives of the business line. Additionally, this leader is a key liaison/enabler between the business leaders, corporate finance and other stakeholders with regards to the entire Period End Closing activities.

In this role you will translate the developments in your domain into strategy within the team and make sure it is well transferred to all teams sections and ensure team alignment. You will inspire and help to shape the future of our organization. As a people manager you will actively promote and stimulate development and coaching team Leads and team Members to evolve with the planned organic growth of the business including both extensions of current scopes, implementation of new scopes as well as introduction of process optimization initiatives.

Strategy

  • Lead the global execution and together with the GBPMs for the optimization in the area of standardization, simplification, quality adherence and efficiency via SLAs, KPIs and OKRs
  • Ensure the strategy of the department is effectively implemented
  • Strive for the highest possible globalization along with Global Business Line Lead
  • Plan and accomplish the site’s financial objectives.
  • Lead the execution of the strategic and operational action items
  • As FM this role is involved in site specific LT discussions in case of financial related topics and supports the local GM in close collaboration with the Finance Business Partner
  • Responsible for the local Business Continuity Plan to ensure the continuity of critical finance activities

Process

  • Achieve the key performance metrics agreed in alignment with the business expectations, stakeholders, clients and senior leadership across the areas supported.
  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls environment and to ensure compliance with Roche policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations
  • As FM this role will oversee and be accountable for all financial processes for the RSS site.
  • Ensure strong governance, process and financial controls to ensure integrity and reliability of financial statements
  • Conclude local legal signatory tasks
  • Reviewal and approval of the Annual Financial Report and regular tax reporting and payment requests
  • Approve regular payments and expense approval according to local DOA for the RSS site
  • Have legal representation for the local legal entity, development/approving of relevant local policies and co-responsibility of Financial Statements presented to auditors and local authorities

People

  • Identify and develop talent to create a succession pipeline within the teams
  • Drive culture of standardization, process excellence and continuous process improvement across the Invoice to cash teams
  • Lead, manage and develop the team aiming to become best in class/industry
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure positive impact on the financial performance from the CLA activities
  • Min. 10 years across finance area and and 7 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in Shared Services management role
  • Knowledge of Finance Shared Services (End to End Period End Closing activities) and operational accounting processes and related technology
  • Language: English required and other languages are a plus
