About The Regional Financial Controller Role

Reporting to the CFO, the Regional Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, finance, reporting, audit, and shared service functions for the region (covering eight markets).

• Directs all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting
• Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Coordinates, prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and project leads/manages the external audit of all entities including liaising with external audit firms
• Analyses each entity’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets
• Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs
• Coordinates and/or prepares tax schedules, returns and information
• Manages cash flow
• Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll, and other applicable taxes
• Provides leadership over all functions of finance in Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam markets
• Conducts regular meeting updates with finance and operation teams as necessary
• Participates in the professional development of the finance teams per country in coordination with HR/admin department
• Reviews and updates the policies and procedures on a timely and regular basis
• Develops improved and consistent reporting and close processes
• Develops improved shared services and AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency

• High level of communication abilities
• Professional qualifications and experience needed
  • Chartered Accountant (ICA or ACCA)
  • Approximately 10 years professional experience
  • Business or finance degree (bachelor’s or master’s)
• At least five years’ managerial experience leading a large accounting/finance team (20 or more heads) is essential
• Experience working with/managing multinational/multicultural teams is essential
• Franchise and retail experience is recommended
• Experience working with start-up businesses is recommended
• Needs to have high level of attention to detail and be organised
• Self-starter, responsible, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
• Needs to be an effective mature leader who can develop teams to improve performance
