The Claims Division is seeking a candidate to join the Shared Services Team as an AVP, in the Direct Resolution Claims (“DRC”) unit.
The DRC handles a mixed caseload of Commercial General Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Healthcare, Property, Professional Liability, Cyber, Surety and Executive Assurance claims. DRC is responsible for investigating, evaluating and resolving various types of first and third party low complexity claims. This requires accurate and thorough documentation, as well as completion of resolution action plans based upon the applicable law, coverage and supporting evidence.
- Monitor and analyze KPI metrics to manage and measure the DRC unit’s performance
- Oversight of the Team Manager(s) and Claim Examiners for consistent execution of best claim handling practices and compliance with DRC standard work.
- Continuous collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on opportunities to expand and improve DRC’s involvement, trends, account matters etc.
- Update and refine the standard operating procedures and assignment rules in order to streamline the claims process for different workflows
- Provide monthly and quarterly (or as needed) reports and presentations to executive leadership on the performance of DRC
- Ensure that the unit is complying with and staying abreast of all statutory and regulatory requirements in all applicable jurisdictions
- Ensure that the team is identifying potential subrogation and fraud investigative opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10- 15 years’ experience handling commercial insurance claims and/or 5-7 years claim management experience
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Outlook, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Knowledge of ImageRight preferred
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills to effectively take part in strategic discussions and leverage technical knowledge
- Superior problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Have the required state(s) Claim Adjuster licenses, preferred, but not required for posting. Upon employment candidate would be required to obtain all required licensing within six months of hire date.
