We are seeking a dynamic Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO) to champion the IT strategy, foster innovation, and contribute to the success of New Zealand Rugby at every level. We invite individuals who share their passion to join this exciting journey.
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) is one of the nation’s largest sports organisations dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of our national game. It drives a high-performance system producing the world’s best talent, beloved competitions, and a robust community game at the heart of the sport. New Zealand Rugby Commercial (NZRC) is legally separate but nonetheless still integral and integrated to NZR and continues to be owned by and inextricably linked. They are a small, dedicated team with a clear and focused mandate, to drive commercial and customer success for NZR.
The role:
As the CITO you will play a vital role in driving digital transformation and ensuring the technology landscape aligns seamlessly with wider strategic objectives. Equally important is the oversight of vital BAU IT service functions. Reporting into the CEO of NZRC, you will hold responsibility for delivery of all technology and information related systems/services to both NZ Rugby and NZ Rugby Commercial as a shared service provider.
- Ensure the seamless operation of day-to-day technology requirements within NZR and NZRC.
- Oversee critical outputs like Cyber Security, Data, Business Intelligence, and Backups/Recovery.
- Drive technological advances for a leading customer experience and optimised internal processes.
- Oversee the delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Lead a close-knit team of 12 with a focus on innovation, empowerment, and creative problem-solving.
- Proven success as an executive and/or senior leader within technology, with 10+ years of experience. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
- Track record of driving digital transformation and change within complex organisations.
- Experience with digital channel management, digital asset and technology roadmaps with a customer-led view.
- Strong background in managing and leading IT teams and delivering complex projects.
- Stakeholder management track record, including Board-level and key external vendors.
