- Responsible for ensuring IT readiness, delivery and high availability to the Africa business and our people across the region.
- Lead on the operational running of IT and remain obsessed, driven and focused on Front-Line IT services to the business, ensuring its run in the most efficient, effective, metric driven and above all, business relevant way.
- Continually seek and identify the most efficient and reliable solutions to IT needs and requirements across the Africa business and people spread across corporate offices, project sites, client offices and across different countries.
- Accountable for the performance of IT – including adoption and success of new initiatives and new technologies deployed.
- Lead the focus on designing the correct IT infrastructure and network architecture to enable our business, maintain resiliency and high availability and bolster the effective use of our applications and tools – including Africa datacentres, storage and hosting architectures.
- Ownership of IT initiatives identified locally. Participate, leverage and play lead role for IT initiatives deployed globally.
- Define, uphold and maintain local IT standards fit-for-purpose for the local business, in line with Global IT processes, and industry best practice frameworks ie ITSM.
- Accountable and responsible for the effective leadership and management of the IT team, providing and promoting people development, career paths and a positive working environment in line with being a great a place to work.
- Be accountable for promoting and upholding Africa business ways of working as a key Shared Services leader.
- Promote an organizational culture of innovation and high performance in business processes.
- Own IT workstreams, technology synergies and IT operational performance for M&A integrations.
- Continually review current and emerging technologies in the industry and their application into process efficiencies relevant to our business.
- Support, guide and promote the use our applications and tools to ensure these remain embedded and rooted into how we work.
- Engage with wider groups and forums within the region and globally working on IT project delivery and change.
- Own the development, delivery and continual reviews of the IT Budget and re-forecasting.
- Maintain frequent and continual close engagement with Finance to review IT spend, costs, forecast and budget performance.
- Accountable for the local escalation point of discussion/approval of un-budgeted IT needs.
- Deliver monthly IT reports to the Africa Executive Committee.
- IT representation on wider Digital strategy initiatives in the business.
- Maintain general Business Engagement with Senior leaders and Project leaders.
- Support external financial auditing and take ownership of IT related audits eg ITGC and quarterly ERM submissions.
- IT lead for Regional Information Security Steering Committee.
Key relationships:
- Reporting line into the CIO (UK, Africa & Middle East).
- Africa MD
- Africa FD
- Africa ExCom and Senior leaders across Shared Services functions.
- IT Leaders across UK, ME and Global functions.
- 8+ years demonstrable experience in leading multi-functional IT processes, functions & teams, with strong IT leadership experience
- Degree or equivalent. Advanced tertiary qualification advantageous
- Experience in multi-mode service delivery model – onshore, offshore, outsource, regional, global.
- Experience in ITSM / ITIL frameworks from an operations, service delivery background
- Strong experience in people and team management with demonstrable experience of nurturing talent and developing teams.
- Strong technical skillset – including infrastructure, datacenters, cloud and some architecture level expertise.
- Good working knowledge and experience of Project methodologies.
- Knowledge of ISO certifications.
- Ability to create and propose Target Operating Models fit-for-purpose for the region.
- Excellent experience and ability to thrive in key stakeholder relationships with Exec leaders.
