This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic and pragmatic lawyer 5+ PQE to join a legal team in a scaling business. You will work under the Head of Legal yet have autonomy to advise on a wide range of matters, influencing the delivery of Mable’s strategic objectives. • Review, draft and negotiate procurement and commercial contracts such as SaaS, marketing, IT, data, consumer and competition law as well as assisting in acquisition integration
• Provide commercially oriented advice and support to the business on a wide range of legal issues including IP, marketing, regulatory compliance, employment, privacy and data protection
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks for Mable products and services
• Monitor legal and regulatory compliance for all areas that may impact Mable’s operations
• Assist in development of new policies and update of existing policies.
• Assist the business with projects to improve products and services
• Assist with business compliance and governance projects and work closely with the Trust and Safety Team to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the Privacy and Compliance Manager to embed the group’s compliance framework
• Contribute to an innovative culture with your legal expertise and initiative and assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies and initiatives

• A Bachelor of Laws degree, a current Legal Practising Certificate and 5-7 (PQE) years of experience from a law firm or an in-house team, with a solid foundation in corporate commercial law.
• Skilled at managing competing priorities within a diverse workload and a collaborative attitude essential to working in a small team in a shared services model (industry experience in a start-up or technology company is a plus but not a prerequisite).
• Attention to detail and a high-level of accuracy
• Versatility and broad experience in corporate and commercial law which will enable you to quickly be involved in a range of areas including employment, contracts, intellectual property, IT, technology, privacy, and consumer law.
• Ability to interact with management levels of a business and build relationships with key stakeholders
• Commercial and strategic mindset, with the capacity to provide legal advice that aligns with business objectives
• Capacity to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment
