The position of Global Category Director, Global Business Services (GBS) will lead all aspects associated with strategy build and execution, negotiation, acquisition, contracting and management of goods and services for Trane Technologies across the HR, Marketing, Communications, Travel, Meetings / Events, Finance, Business Consulting and Engineering functions. This role also includes leading the Travel Management programs across the company inclusive of ensuring compliance to our travel policies. The leader has the critical responsibility of developing and aligning category strategies with business partners’ needs across the enterprise and identifying and managing a supply base to drive growth & profitability across all Trane Technologies SBU’s.

• Leadership of category team members including support of talent development, employee engagement, and performance management.
• Leadership of the Travel Management programs and policies across the company.
• Leadership of the Meetings and Events team responsible for planning and execution for the the Americas business units.
• Serves as an active and valued member of the Indirect procurement leadership team.
• Responsible for assuring supply base segmentation, strategy development, execution of procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
• Develop relationships and communication strategies with internal partners to identify business needs and align supply base to achieve strategic direction.
• Develop & implement multi-year category strategies with goals to increase spend with preferred suppliers and align on annual action plans with key stakeholders
• Provide leadership and oversight of the procurement process to ensure spend is awarded to provide the maximum value to Trane Technologies.
• Lead the development and negotiation of contracts through the contract lifecycle maximizing value while minimizing risk to Trane Technologies.
• Partner closely with legal to support efficient contract review, contract negotiation and contract finalization.
• Identifies strategic priorities and removes barriers for the implementation of GBS strategies.
• Responsible for execution of indirect purchasing process in support of GBS requirements.
• Develop standard work to support GBS purchases.
• Through development of training and standard work, increase GBS procurement team member’s capacity and knowledge of commodity strategies.
• Develop and track metrics to measure success and effectiveness of GBS procurement

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree – Business administration, supply chain, finance or similar
• MBA preferred
• 10+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain
• Sourcing experience in the development and management of a global supply base is required
• Experience within indirect sourcing is preferred
• Prior people and organizational management experience required
• Demonstrated success includes supplier development across regions, responsibility for high-level negotiations, leading/participating on multi-functional projects, and team development
• Experience leading organizational transformation
• Experience developing and implementing strategies across an enterprise
• Strong project management experience
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, all functional areas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in developing standard processes and tools
