On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a Procurement Manager to work on a hybrid basis with their team in Edinburgh for an initial contract length of 6 months.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team to manage and develop the strategy for Professional services including Consultancy, contingent labor, marketing and digitalization. Tesco Bank are at a pivotal moment in developing their Procurement strategy, working alongside Group services to identify new suppliers and improve ways of working that will be central to growing the capabilities of Tesco Bank.

Leading the Shared services Category, this role is responsible for partnering with our internal and external stakeholders to meet all requirements that support a move to paperless ways of working and careful control of consultant usage. This role drives value for money and efficiencies throughout the procurement lifecycle, as well as partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure that Tesco Bank has a robust strategy balancing the needs of the business, legal compliance, advancing technology and platform challenges.

Tesco Bank are looking for a confident and articulate Procurement professional to join them. Role modelling the ability to work with various stakeholders and negotiate with suppliers are key experiences required for this role. The ideal candidate would have experience in high value complex procurement strategies and managing multimillion-pound tenders.

The role has two direct reports so experience in people management would be highly beneficial.

You will:

• Build and deliver Category Plans by being innovative and collaborative with various cross functional stakeholders.
• Deliver high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing best value for Tesco.
• Develop category plans linking to Tesco Bank targets and emerging industry technologies and best practices.
• Forge strong working relationships with stakeholders to support, endorse and deliver plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realize business savings and support innovation.
• Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
• Use sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across the organization.
• Support the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgment.

• Procurement management and negotiation skills, experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge the norm. Able to bring new concepts and ideas to life to gain buy in from stakeholders.
• Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation and best practice across the category
• Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and functions within the organisation
• Contract management skills
• Development of self, high standards of personal ethic
• Experience in a professional services procurement role is preferred but not essential. The willingness and aptitude to learn new subjects is essential.
