Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for managing all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. Hilton Accounting and Finance Services (HAFS) manages the accounting and finance functions at both property and at corporate levels, allowing us to develop scalable globalized service provision. Our Centers of Excellence allow Finance and Accounting Team Members the opportunity to grow their career across the Tower process verticals adding value to our business stakeholders, suppliers, and customers alike.

What will I be doing?

The Senior Director of our Process to Pay Tower (PTP) is the Global Process Owner and will be accountable for Strategy and service delivery of Accounts Payable service provision as part of a hybrid Shared Service operating model. The model encompassing PTP Teams in HAFS Centers of Excellence (COE) in both Memphis, USA and Glasgow, United Kingdom as well as overseeing top quartile service provision from our Business Process Operator in Hyderabad, India.

As Process to Pay Process Owner, you will set the priority and approach to achieve our Touchless Accounts Payable digital ambition, always aligned with Hotel and Corporate Stakeholders, as well as internal business partners such as IT and Hilton Supplier Management. Operating within a thriving Business Process Operating Model, set and evolve high standards of governance, protocol and evidence backed reporting via comprehensive PTP Performance Dashboards to demonstrate PTP Performance at Strategic and Tactical levels for Hilton Centers of Excellence and in collaboration with our 3rd Party Service Partners.

  • Ensure accurate and effective Knowledge Management governance that delivers and maintains fit for purpose Process Flow Diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, Performance Metric Descriptions, SOX and SOC 1 Risk and Control Matrix, Accounting Governance Documentation and User Access Governance Appraisals.
  • Set and deliver PTP Tower performance in line with prudent Departmental Budgets that are aligned with cross Tower Peers, that leverage efficiency derived from relentless a Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to PTP Tower functional leadership in the performance of their objectives and duties, establishing priorities in achieving functional strategy, objectives, and controls compliance.
  • Ensure optimum monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close in compliance with Accounting Close Timetables that are aligned across regions, systems, Tower Peers, and other Hilton Ownership Groups.
  • Provide overall ownership of PTP Tower strategy, Company Policy compliance, service delivery, control governance and compliance, performance reporting and stakeholder management all of which are subject to relentless continuous improvement.
  • Lead consultation and alignment of stakeholders in providing strategic business case evaluation of industry leading digital platforms of choice that can accelerate attainment of Touchless AP ambition in parallel to enhancing the customer and supplier user experience.
  • Seasoned Program and Project Leadership driving effective change across a diverse range of stakeholders, cultures, platforms, and processes, managing risk-based decision evaluation, and cultivating a One Team approach to drive ownership as we embed our Touchless AP new ways of working.
  • Drive continual evaluation of Team capabilities to attain our digital objectives without compromise to our customer centric operating culture. Provision effective training support to upskill our PTP workforce to become the control center that monitors the PTP transaction lifecycle. Provide leadership that invests in people first training, coaching, and mentoring and succession planning strategies as well as supports effective delegation at all levels to bring further stretch opportunities for our Team Members to enrich their career aspirations.
  • Be an experienced Global Business Service/Shared Service Functional leader who has exposure to international and cross border process leadership and ownership; demonstrating the ability to leading globally diverse and internationally located teams and being the brand ambassador for HAFS in the EMEA region.
  • Bring a strong external network within the Global Business Services and Finance Shared Service arenas. Leverage these external perspectives and latest technologies to bring progressive thought generation to HAFS Leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Inspire with excellent public speaking, written and verbal communication skill, develop and deliver storytelling presentations to all levels of the organization and third parties, coaching our Glasgow COE community always to be genuine and authentic within our HAFS operating culture.
  • Excellent financial and operational analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and assimilate continuous improvement action plans. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other packages including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Teams, Sharepoint. Exposure to Procure to Pay and Financial Systems such as Coupa, Kofax, Documentum, DocMatrix, Navision, PeopleSoft, Concur, Blackline, AuditBoard.
  • Lead by example is upholding absolute integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant progressive accounting experience
  • BA/BS/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience lieu thereof
  • Accounting knowledge of industry standards, GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • Large Functional Leadership experience across Global Business Services/Finance Shared Service captive/hybrid operating models
  • Practical knowledge of MS Package including PowerBI, exposure to Procure to Pay and Financial Systems such as Coupa, Kofax, Documentum, DocMatrix, Navision, PeopleSoft, Concur, Blackline, AuditBoard
  • International Travel expected

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hotel level or industry experience
  • Accounting Certification/Qualification

Knowledge of regulatory requirements for both the US and the UK
