The Campus Services division brings together UAA’s diverse portfolio of revenue generating enterprises: Parking Services; Housing Facilities and Finance; Campus Dining; the Avis Alaska Sports Center; Event Services, the Alaska Airlines Center, the Wendy Williamson Auditorium; the UAA ecommerce textbook store; and the Campus Gearshop. Campus Services generates approximately $14.2 million in annual gross revenue, and provides accountability and oversight of another $5 million in annual contracted dining and textbook revenue.

The Director of Housing Facilities Operations (Director) plays a key role in the largest of these enterprises, Housing Facilities and Finance. The Director oversees the general facilities operations of UAA’s 1,000-bed residential campus.

The Housing Maintenance team consists of seven (7) full time, benefited Crafts and Trades maintenance and custodial personnel, including two non-supervisory leads. This team is divided into two shops: Housing Maintenance and Custodial. In the summer conference season, the team can grow to 15 or more full time workers, including temporary workers. Under the Director’s guidance, this team is responsible for all routine maintenance and custodial services within three large residence halls, 20 townhomes, 80 apartments, and five off-campus condominiums.

  • Management skills to include the ability to plan and perform the administration of multiple program activities/functions, operations and projects.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to inspire a shared responsibility toward creating a culture of diversity and inclusivity.
  • The successful candidate must consistently demonstrate dependability, collaboration, effective communication, initiative, and a commitment to putting students first.
  • The successful candidate must have Advanced management skills that demonstrate the ability to lead and oversee multi-faceted functions and projects. Supervisory experience and strong delegation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and ten years of progressive leadership experience supporting facilities operation in an educational setting or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Preference given to candidates with residential facilities and operations leadership experience in a college or university setting.
