As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology, Application Engineering And Shared Services team, the Director, Application Development is a seasoned professional in leadership and coaching responsible for providing direct application delivery services and production support, undertaking new initiatives and base essential support applications. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to direct, manage and support large and critical applications on a day to day basis; We’re looking for this resource to stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and financial technologies, integrating these insights into our enterprise solutions. In addition, the role will guide the strategic direction for deploying AI and machine learning across financial systems, ensuring alignment with industry-specific requirements.

• Delivery Focused – Work closely with internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage projects to the agreed upon timeline. Monitor finances identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions. Under your leadership implement projects in a timely fashion that are of high quality, low cost and on budget.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and financial technologies, integrating these insights into our enterprise solutions.

• Moderate the Solution Creation Process: Lead, facilitate and coordinate the solution design, including ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams.
• Design and implement even driven data pipelines to collect and process data from diverse financial components, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Provide leadership in financial solution architecture, encompassing AI and traditional financial technology systems.
• Design and manage robust, scalable data pipelines for real-time financial data processing and analytics.
• Ensure high standards of architectural integrity and consistency across diverse projects, aligning with CIBC’s strategic vision.
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers and machine learning experts, cultivating an innovative and knowledge-rich environment
• Collaborate with business sponsors, enterprise architects, LOBs’ solution designers, senior development, and deployment teams to integrate their platforms with AI and machine learning solutions to establish a broader financial enterprise architecture.

• You are a seasoned technical leader. You have 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in: technical architecture, solutions design, project management, and senior executive stakeholder management
• It’s an asset if you have fulfilled leadership and advisory roles for major functions and/or initiatives with the responsibility, authority and discretion for decision-making. You also have a technical background, sufficient depth and breadth to be able to recognize and successfully exploit opportunities for effective development or usage of IT, and lead/guide fully experienced technical specialists.
