The CFAO provides strategic and tactical leadership for financial and administrative planning and operations of the College including facilitating the College’s strategic financial planning processes to identify, promote and implement short-term and long-term strategies that continually improve effectiveness and efficiency, increase the College’s financial resources, and drive growth in revenue and operating income.
- The CFAO is responsible for the administration of all financial operations of the College, including the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies and reporting results to OHIO Executive leadership, college Executives and constituents so they can make informed decisions that have an impact on the College. Oversees resource projection processes including instructional, restricted, operating and capital/facilities budgets; continually monitors resources with long-term resource planning. Partners with planning units across campus to ensure strategies align with OHIO mission and vision by participating in campus-wide committees.
- Serves as the primary PCOE liaison to Human Resources on hiring and personnel matters, including staffing plans, employment processing, compensation and other benefits, training, and development. Supports recruitment training and activities to ensure equity, inclusion, and accessibility in searches. Provides support/guidance to hiring managers and supervisors on all personnel issues. Responsible for Human Resource management for administrative/classified union positions including reviewing and approving all job descriptions, staffing proposals, and providing oversight on all PCOE and the CDC hiring processes and salary/equity matters; determines and authorizes starting salaries/wages for administrative/classified union positions, in consultation with the Dean. Leads performance management activities. Works directly with the Dean to develop staffing plans and strategic staffing investments; provides data for faculty initiatives; approves all instructional contracts for the College.
- Provides input and support to Computer Technology and Online Programs Director (CTOP) to maintain consistent review of technology needs and that an organized refresh of equipment is budgeted and completed; also provides substantiation of software needs for graduate students and faculty; works with OIT to ensure OHIO polices are followed by all; works with CTOP director to review digital marketing strategies for recruitment and online graduate programs; reviews and projects revenue; formulates strategies to ensure that they are implemented according to College strategic plan; supplies data to Dean regarding enrollments and recommends strategic investments for targeted potential growth.
- Reviews operations of the new facility promoting space availability for student enhanced learning opportunities with regard to technology needs, kitchen facility needs, computer lab learning and ensuring accessibility accommodations are in place for all spaces. Oversees all aspects of internal organization, policies, operations and infrastructure in order to facilitate operational effectiveness, continued growth and pursuit of strategic directives. Reviews and provides input on data base for HSC and REC equipment refurbishment and PAW replacement needs; works with department and SSC staff to ensure that equipment is inspected annually and safe for all student coursework.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field. Eight years of work related experience with eight years of management experience is also required. An equivalent amount of education and experience in working with financial and human resource management will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a CFAO or assistant to a CFAO
Directing and compiling resource allocations for a large facility with various centers and departments, including financial and human resources.
