Vhi have a full time permanent vacancy in their People team for the role of People Operations Manager based in either Dublin or Kilkenny as part of a hybrid working arrangement.

  • Providing strategic direction and leadership to the HR People Operations team supporting all aspects of colleague’s moments that matter and employee administration and lifecycle stages.
  • Reporting to the Head of Operations, People & Sustainability (P&S) you will lead the People Operations team in a time of transformation – providing clear and compelling vision and strategy to support change agility and deliver enhancements for stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for the development and implementation of operational excellence and continuous process improvement supporting the P&S transformational agenda and continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality and effectiveness of People Operations.
  • Responsibility for the ongoing delivery of regular operational processes in compliance with legislative obligations e.g. time & attendance management and administration of benefits.
  • Supporting the annual policy and governance review cycle, ensuring that all aspects of our people policies are operational, whilst identifying and implementing process improvements and ensuring they are in line with best practices.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and active engagement with transformational related programmes of work – both internally in the People and Sustainability team and with stakeholders across the business.
  • Awareness of the external regulatory landscape, responsibility for horizon scanning and the ability to interpret legislation, reporting requirements and ensuring Vhi is prepared for all legislative changes which impact our people policies.
  • Management of statutory, risk reporting and compliance with relevant policies and governance structures.
  • Leading and developing a team of specialists by creating development and succession plans, provide coaching and regular performance feedback to promote a high performing and engaged team; fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values quality, diversity and promotes innovation.
  • Managing first line support, coaching and guidance to colleagues and managers on employee relations and performance related matters.
  • Equipping the P&S team and business with the relevant MI and reporting insights.
  • Degree in HR or sufficient experience in this field that would reasonably equate to this qualification and a minimum 7 years progressive experience in HR Operation roles with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing a shared services function of reasonable scale
  • Sound knowledge of employment law, employee relations, pay and benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of HR Information Systems and utilising data to build and continuously enhance MI packs and reporting
  • Tech savvy with a strong knowledge and proficiency with information systems and optimising these technologies e.g. Core HR system, Sharepoint, ERP/HRIS
  • Experience using project and change management methodologies an advantage
  • Proven experience leading teams through organisational transformations and delivering significant enhancements and efficiencies in people operations, while building and development high performing teams through good leadership and people management
  • Proven ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and balance multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical mind set – demonstrated ability to influence strategic plans through use of meaningful data analytics
  • Highly collaborative with a strong emphasis on finding solutions for the benefit of the organisation and colleagues in particular, with an ability to influence at all levels through to senior leadership
  • Experience of insurance, financial services and/or healthcare environments beneficial but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to add to the culture in Vhi through living the Vhi values
