As a member of the global HSE Audit & Compliance team you will evaluate HSE risks and opportunities to ensure Novartis continues to provide Healthy, Safe and Environmentally sustainable workplaces. This is also true of our external network of supplier sites where working in collaboration to drive high standards of HSE through our supply chain. This mission supports the Novartis purpose of providing uninterrupted lifesaving treatment for our patients.
- Plan and conduct comprehensive Health, Safety and Environmental audits on behalf of Novartis within our internal & external network locations globally.
- To evaluate our network against HSE requirements to sustain our enterprise objectives of providing an uninterrupted supply of medicines to our patients, support a healthy and safe place to work and to operate in an environmentally responsible way.
- Deliver confidence to our stakeholders that HSE risks in our internal & external network are being evaluated and that identified risks are mitigated to an acceptable level through our 2nd line assurance process.
- Lead Global HSE audit (teams) during internal audits & manage external vendors when required for our external network audits as part of our 2nd line of assurance
- Develop and implement audit schedules; communicate audit dates to all key stakeholders such as, applicable sites, business partners, guest auditors and external audit firms in a timely manner.
- Conduct audit planning, execution, report compilation and delivery of audit report to key stakeholders.
- Manage additional duties and tasks related to improving the internal & external HSE audit process.
Experience required/preferred
- University degree in safety engineering, safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational health and/or medicine, engineering, or related field. Master’s degree in above-mentioned fields is highly desirable.
Languages:
- At a minimum, fluency (speaking and writing) in English required. Working knowledge of further languages desirable (e.g. German, French, Spanish and Mandarin).
- >5 years relevant work experience, with knowledge of and experience in an audit function desirable (e.g. HSE, Quality Assurance, Business Continuity)
- Working closely with legal and business partners to provide HSE expertise in auditing.
