We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join the UK’s largest leisure operator and charitable social enterprise. We manage over 400 facilities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, including public sports and leisure centres, elite sporting venues, libraries, and children’s centres.

Senior Finance Manager role summary:

  • Business Management responsibilities – maintain strong control over relevant income transactions.
  • Production of monthly Balance sheets and Bank Reconciliations and processing associated accruals/prepayments.
  • Business Development
  • Responsibilities – constantly review the processes to identify improvements to assist in the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s finance administration.
  • Operational Management responsibilities – ensuring that efficient and effective administration processes relating to income transactions are in place and adhered to. Work closely with the National Standards and Compliance Audit Manager and Head of Sales.
  • People & Workforce Management responsibilities – building and developing a strong accounts team that drives the company`s culture and standards and gets the best out of their staff.

Senior Finance Manager focus:

  • Deputise for the Head of Shared Services Finance & assist in overseeing the 4 SSF Departments – IP, SL, PL & Finance Systems
  • Provide support and mentoring to Shared Services Finance Managers where needed
  • Line Manage & lead the Income Protection (IP) Team.
  • Maintain strong control over all Till, DD Collection, and Online income transactions and protect the company’s Income.
  • Play an integral role in the development of Finance modules of the company’s Booking Platform.
  • Identify and lead improvement in the Income Protection section and set procedures to embed change (including centre Finance Procedures).
  • Forge concrete working relationship between finance and operations.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and to deadlines.
  • Ensure statutory compliance in the section.
  • Production of monthly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • ACCA (or equivalent) Qualified Accountant or ‘by Experience’ with experience in the commercial sector.
  • An extensive proven track record & successful managerial experience in administration and Finance.
  • A broad understanding of business and corporate responsibilities.
  • Proven business skills in finance, business administration & people management.
  • Proven track record of IT systems skills.
  • Proven experience in client liaison and change management.
