The Manager, Transitions and Quality Management is responsible for managing transition projects into Global Shared Services for multiple SSC hubs and multiple functions. This position will lead accounting and process experts and leverage their subject matter expertise in multi-function projects. This role will partner with Finance leaders and business partners as well as SSC managers and teams to deliver transition projects in a controlled environment that meet Harman’s current and future requirements.

  • Work with global teams geographically and across all Harman businesses
  • Lead new transition projects from GSSC operations side for all GSSC hubs and offices (Hungary, India, China, US)
  • Monitor and regularly report project progress to executive level stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain an outstanding project control environment
  • Lead a team of process / accounting experts of each SSC function
  • Act as a point of reference for executive leadership in questions around transition projects
  • Identify process/system improvements and standardization opportunities
  • Collaborate across GSSC hubs to create global standards for shared service activities
  • Serve as an escalation point in all aspects of transition projects
  • Lead in developing and analyzing project related KPIs and metrics
  • Present project related KPIs and metrics regularly
  • Oversee audit support and preparation of audit related analyses for all transition audits
  • Lead the Customer Experience initiative across all global GSSC hubs
  • Design and maintain the customer satisfaction survey process
  • Collaborate across GSSC hubs to maintain and improve customer satisfaction
  • Monitor the performance of subordinate staff, set targets and provide feedback
  • Serve as an escalation point to direct reports as applicable
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within and outside GSSC
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics
  • 7+ years of experience in shared services
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • People management experience leading a staff of SMEs
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both written and verbal
  • Excellent communication skills over the phone and in e-mail
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Willingness to work in flexible timings and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high-paced and high-volume environment
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, goal-oriented decision making
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to effectively work across functional boundaries to bring tasks to successful conclusion
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment

What Is Nice To Have

  • Higher accounting qualifications are a plus
  • Good working knowledge of SAP FICO
