Our client in the Banking Industry is looking for a Senior Manager: Finance and Shared Services to join their team. This will be a 3-month contract based in Sandton.

  • The purpose is to provide independent, objective assurance to the client’s Board of Directors via the Group Audit Committee that the governance processes, management of risk and system of internal control are adequate and effective to mitigate the risks (in line with the client’s Internal Audit Methodology), both current and emerging, that threaten the achievement of the Group’s strategy and key objectives, and in so doing help improve the internal control and risk culture of the Group.
  • To deliver on the annual audit plan thereby providing reasonable assurance to stakeholders that key risks are being mitigated through adequate and effective management controls in accordance with Group Internal Audit methodology.

The Manager / Senior Manager, in the discharge of his/her duties, shall be accountable for:

  • End-to-end audit execution as required (planning, fieldwork, reporting).
  • Documentation on TeamMate in line with the GIA methodology.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with business and key stakeholders to ensure robustness and completeness of audit coverage and provide insights to enhance assurance provided over the control environment.
  • Write the audit report for this audit.
  • Ad-hoc committee reporting.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) SA or
  • Certified Internal Auditor

The Following Minimum Experience Is Required

Manager equivalent with 8-10 years’ experience with specific audit experience in:

  • Internal audit.
  • Auditing of suspense accounts and financial control.
  • IT application and data flow and controls testing.

Aside from the required qualifications and experience set out above, and in addition to strong technical skills and IQ, strong personal attributes and skills essential to be a successful candidate in this role include:

  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
  • Apply experience and best practice into audit discussions and work performed.
  • Leadership and judgement.
  • Relationships and stakeholder management.
  • Business acumen.
  • Values-based (especially Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Client-driven, People-centered) and strong Ethics.
  • Various testing will be conducted to confirm the sustainability of the short-listed candidates before final selection.
