We’re seeking a visionary leader to join our team as the Director of Shared Technical Services! In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for managing a diverse collection of mission-critical large-scale enterprise IT systems supporting our various business partners.

You’ll have the opportunity to handpick cutting-edge technologies that align with our business needs, while also guiding strategic planning initiatives for our division and organization.

But that’s not all – you’ll also play a crucial role in fostering collaboration with external systems, including county systems and other state agencies, ensuring seamless interoperability and integration. As a key leader, you’ll have supervisory responsibility over a team of dedicated supervisors, technical development staff, and contractors, empowering them to bring our strategies and plans to life.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of six (6) years of progressively more responsible professional experience in an IT role with responsibilities for the development and implementation of IT strategy and direction in a complex IT environment with diverse technologies, solution development, project and program management, data management, and customer demands.

This experience must include three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience. This experience must include oversight of staff (e.g. selection, orientation, training, coaching, performance management, etc.). *Two (2) years of experience in a systems Architect classification or two (2) years of experience in an external IT architect role may substitute for two (2) years of the required supervisory experience*

Experience must also include:

• Knowledge of vendor staff augmentation contracting management.
• Knowledge of project, product, and portfolio management principles, concepts, and best practices.
• Experience managing large -scale enterprise IT teams with staff that are 24×7 on-call, overtime, rotation, production support.
• Experience handling high visibility critical production technical issues, communicating with stakeholders in plain language, both verbal and written.
• Ability and/or experience to lead an organization of 50 or more staff.
• Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing sufficient to communicate expectations to technical and managerial teams, communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and effectively represent the agency to external customers or stakeholders.
• Broad knowledge of current trends in information technology and technology solutions delivery and management to include life-cycle management. Experience with cloud technologies is preferred.
• Ability and/or experience of addressing substantial challenges and successfully driving significant change through collaboration and matrix management.
• Ability to collaborate across functions for effective organizational management, maturity, and growth.
• Ability and/or experience to lead an organization of xx or more staff.
