Our next Vice President, Commercial Operations will lead Sales, Wholesale & Retail, Strategic Partnerships, and Retail Training & Integration for the Midwest business unit, which includes the vertically integrated Gage business, as well as retail operations under the Cookies x Lemonnade and Pinnacle brands.

Midwest Region Sales (Wholesale & Retail):

  • Accountable for delivery of Annual Sales and Gross Margin for the region
  • Oversees Midwest Wholesale Sales, Retail, and Procurement teams including support staff working within and alongside these teams
  • Responsible for delivering Sales plan across TerrAscend NE Business
  • Oversee all wholesale customer relationships, including senior-level discussions with key MSO partners across the Region
  • Partner with marketing, retail, procurement, and wholesale to provide a consumer-driven supply and demand plan for the Midwest, with a focus on driving company KPIs
  • Develop improved Sales Reporting needed to manage Midwest region Sales operations and inform senior leadership of progress against all relevant targets, identify incremental sales opportunities, and project associated risks
  • Partner with Enterprise Sales teams to begin to lay the foundation for unified wholesale-focused capabilities across all TerrAscend regions, including processes, systems, and metrics/KPIs

Midwest Regional Marketing (Shared Service):

  • Actively contribute to creation & execution of Midwest Marketing & Brand Strategies, including brand values and positioning, New Product Development, pricing strategy, and required investments by brand
  • Partner with Midwest Marketing team and enterprise Marketing to develop unified processes, systems, and metrics/KPIs

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Develop and maintain key relationships for all TerrAscend partners across Midwest region, including finance/accounting, supply chain/procurement, marketing, operations, marketing/innovation to successfully delivery against agreed-upon financial/operational targets
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships for all TerrAscend customers across Midwest, including key accounts and key vendors to successfully deliver against agreed-upon financial/operational targets
  • Support M&A transactions, integration, and expansion
  • Support TerrAscend-wide Cannabis industry relations, including work with government and political groups, participation in key national forums, and positioning of the company in select public forums as appropriate

Retail Training & Integration:

  • Accountable for Training & Integration in the retail market. Overseeing retail specific training programs and systems in close cooperation with Enterprise training
  • Ensure store leadership and employees in new and current stores in the Midwest are up-to-date and compliant with all their commercial and compliance training programs in retail

Other:

  • Support other projects, initiatives, and duties as assigned by the President of the Midwest.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field highly preferred; MBA or master’s degree a plus
  • 10+ years of experience of progressive experience in strategic sales leadership capacity
  • Previous experience working in cannabis highly preferred; MSO experience preferred
  • Experience in a start-up and/or scale-up phase organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively utilizing and optimizing commercial procurement partnerships to drive strategic initiatives
  • Ability to effectively lead a geographically dispersed team in sales and commercial operations
  • Experience working in public environment with understanding of investor relations
  • Proven track record of leading change management, excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify the complex and effectively interface at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting data analytics to derive insight and actions
  • Ability to translate business objectives to actionable and measurable strategies
  • Demonstrated strategic and impactful executive leadership in highly collaborative environments
  • Ability to form cross-functional relationships and influence others to drive to a common goal
  • Strong work ethic and customer service mentality
  • Ability to travel 40-60% within existing (Michigan) and future markets
