The Chief Financial Officer & Head of Shared Services (CFO) is accountable for leading and managing AEIOU’s financial strategic objectives, ensuring legislative and best practice compliance, the delivery of management reporting, overseeing audit activities, and ensuring compliance to all statutory and governance requirements.

The Chief Financial Officer & Head of Shared Services (CFO) is accountable for leading and managing AEIOU’s financial strategic objectives, ensuring legislative and best practice compliance, the delivery of management reporting, overseeing audit activities, and ensuring compliance to all statutory and governance requirements.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO is responsible for assisting all AEIOU centres in overseeing their financial activities and partnering with the business to deliver financial objectives and meet financial KPIs.

The CFO is also responsible for overseeing the organisation’s overall risk management activities including assisting the Board and CEO in managing those risks.

The role also oversees the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) function, the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) function, Real Estate responsibilities and holds the designated Corporate Board Secretarial function.

  • Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification
  • Demonstrated previous experience at CFO level in a similar organisation with experience reporting to a Board, strategic planning and execution and achieving organisational change.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  • Understanding and experience applying Australian Taxation requirements, Office of Consumer and Business Affairs requirements, contemporary financial management systems and audit processes.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Experience managing and developing staff.
  • Experience in managing areas of major risk to the organisation including contract and contractor management.
  • Experience in a similar organisation, knowledge of the financial environment for a charity and management experience in either Federal or State Government funded programs highly regarded.
  • Have your COVID-19 Vaccination certificate (double-dosed) or an approved Government Exemption
  • Have a current Paid Blue Card (or able to obtain before commencement)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check required if your Blue Card was applied for or renewed post 1 February 2021
