The General Manager, Global Business Services will lead AVI-SPL’s shared corporate and delivery operations organization. This role is responsible for the overall direction, day to day leadership, planning, organizing, and executing activities which support the delivery of services globally. Offered services include engineering, technical support, and financial services, among others. The General Manager builds and maintains a highly effective and customer focused team; with a strategic focus on developing, and retaining talent, process, and systems capability delivering organizational growth and efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish a Global Business Services Operations Center with a mindset of service excellence, and continuous process improvement.
  • Build out and oversee the corporate and delivery operations teams in developing, improving, and supporting processes related to high-volume transactions and corporate services.
  • Collaborate in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization, adhere consistently with all organizational policies.
  • Work collaboratively with process owners to plan, transition, and execute processes to achieve goals, simplify, reduce costs, prevent loss and ensure that work is completed safely, accurately delivered on time as expected.
  • Drive outstanding business results through traditional management functions including, but not limited to, coaching and development, workforce and project scheduling, performance assessment and general talent planning.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to include defining work processes, training requirements, department inputs, outputs and metric measures that lead to the successful achievement of business objectives.
  • Create a productive, collaborative work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, establishing process governance structure and ratios/measures, facilitating teamwork, recognizing, and rewarding outstanding performance, encouraging risk tolerance, and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Build organizational capability through continuous improvement activities, originate action to improve existing conditions and processes, identify improvement opportunities, generate ideas, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to Identify, track and report meaningful performance metrics such as turnover and business progress.
  • Responsible for financial performance, including budgeting, auditing, and aligning with stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Masters degree in, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of shared services, captive or non-captive business process outsourcing experience and understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
  • 10+ years previous managerial / supervisory experience, with demonstrable achievements in building talent, process, and systems capability.
  • At least three years of experience with a multi-national Fortune 500 Company with multi-unit and multi-country operations preferred.

Minimum Job-related Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Proficient knowledge of large ERP such as SAGE, Netsuite, and Microsoft D365 systems and processes such as Ariba.

  • Basic knowledge of project management.
  • Expert ability to interpret, analyze, and report complex data.
  • Expert ability to manage multiple, overlapping priorities in a high-demand, customer-centric work environment.
  • Ability to maximize the performance of others using clearly defined expectations and related goals, daily coaching focused on behaviors and outcomes, skills development, individual development plans, and scheduled performance appraisals.
  • Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership.
  • Expert analytical skills, including the ability to understand, explain, and execute potentially complex quantitative strategies and functional solutions.
  • Proficient analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated learning agility to respond favorably to evolving systems, applications, organizational objectives, and internal processes.
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
