Bank Reconciliation:

  • Oversee and manage the bank reconciliation process for approximately 600 practice bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve variances, errors, or missing transactions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank reconciliation process.
  • Recommend adjustments where needed to ensure bank reconciliations remain clean.

Revenue Recognition:

  • Lead the revenue recognition process in compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue across all practices and revenue streams.
  • Manage the contract revenue recognition process in Netsuite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the finance business partnering team to ensure Revenue is closed timely as part of month-end.

Doctor Draw calculation:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for doctor draw calculations, considering productivity, revenue generation, contractual agreements, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with doctor, practice managers, HR and Talent to ensure correct rates are entered in the commission engine.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to determine appropriate draw amounts for each dentist, considering productivity, revenue targets, and individual contracts.
  • Regularly review and update draw calculations to reflect changes in performance, and contractual agreements.
  • Communicate draw calculations to dentist, addressing any concerns or inquiries.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Manage the accounts receivable function, including preparation of AR aging report in collaboration with the practices.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for effective accounts receivable management, ensuring timely and accurate recording of revenue.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging, identifying and addressing issues, and optimizing collection processes.
  • Review and approve AR write-off requests from practices.

Partner Variable Compensation:

  • Review partner variable compensation structure as per contractual agreement.
  • Present to senior leadership variable compensation position and area of concern.
  • Address partner inquiries, concerns, or disputes related to variable compensation calculations, providing explanations and resolutions as necessary.

Payroll:

  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations and policies.
  • Manage the payroll team and provide guidance on payroll calculations, tax withholding, and benefit deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation.
  • Review and approve payroll reports, including payroll taxes and statutory deductions.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to bank reconciliation, revenue recognition, and other financial metrics.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to commissions, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable regulations, such as tax laws, labor laws, and accounting standards.

Team Management and Leadership:

  • Manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting professional development and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in senior finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
