As a key member of the accounting organization, the Accounting Services Senior Manager is accountable for managing the teams responsible for transactional processing. Transactional processing includes the disbursement of funds, reconciliation of inbound cash, management of corporate receivables, debt schedules and other transactional initiatives. The Senior Manager plays a key role in managing relationships with all internal departments within Frontier as well as outside partners. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing value added direction and establishing Accounts Payable, Account Receivable and Revenue Operations as a strategic function while ensuring adherence to financial controls and procedures within the various accounting services.
Essential Functions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies/procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place related to the activities of invoice processing, receivables, cash and debt to ensure data is accurately processed and the company avoids errors in reporting.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place related to the activities of general receivables to ensure items are appropriately recorded and reviewed in accordance with internal policies.
- Daily supervision of in-house accounts payable and revenue operations staff to provide direction, guidance, and feedback.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring invoices are paid within appropriate payment terms.
- Maintain relationships with third party providers, ensuring timely delivery of data by both Frontier and the provider relative to chargebacks, fraud, and other external reporting.
- Identify and take advantage of discount terms when advantageous to the company.
- Establish relationships with Supply Chain/Purchasing and other related departments to improve financial intelligence and overall business operations.
- Lead and maintain company compliance with unclaimed property filings.
- Act as a lead while evaluating various revenue operations initiates including but not limited to agent audits, chargeback documentation evaluations, business initiatives, and business policy with their financial impact.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures documentation.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting process and provide weekly to Treasury.
- Responsible for remaining knowledgeable about new product and process enhancements across existing systems and being aware of new technologies that may impact the work of the department. Research industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain T&E policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Identify and recommend system enhancements resulting in improved efficiencies and cost savings.
- Compile department metrics each month and provide monthly dashboard reporting to executives.
- Establish goals for the Accounts Payable and Revenue operations department.
- Recommend policy changes, continuously streamline workflow, and address complaints and resolve issues.
- Develop and mentor members of the shared services team to ensure employee engagement and long-term employee development
Other Functions
- Assist in interim, year-end audits and SOX walkthroughs/compliance.
- Process year end 1099’s in a timely manner and in accordance with IRS rules.
- Resolve/respond to all IRS notices related to 1099 reporting or filing discrepancies.
- Work with the company’s unclaimed property resource and maintain the ongoing compliance for unclaimed property across various jurisdictions nationwide.
- Perform ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of previous shared service or accounting experience in a mid- to large-size organization
- 5-7 years of progressively increased managerial responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
- MBA or CPA preferred

- Possess good mathematical aptitude.
- Intermediate to advanced computer spreadsheet and word processing skills
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
- Possess strong interpersonal relationship skills necessary to interact both within the company and with vendors.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Able to work with strict confidentiality.
- Knowledge of W-9, W-8 and 1099 requirements
