We are currently recruiting for a full-time Director, Strategic Sourcing to support our Strategic Sourcing – Redevelopment team.

  • Overall accountability to provide strategic, fiscal, and practical leadership to supply chain sourcing, contracting, and other aspects of supply chain procurement such as project work.
  • Procurement advice and guidance to the MMC corporate team, its divisions, and Members, including CEOs, V.P.s, G.M., Directors, Managers.
  • Development of multi-year strategic sourcing plans, assessment of contract expiries and identification of key product and service categories for multiple external stakeholders and member hospitals.
  • Evidence of ongoing effort to complete, update and enforce policies and procedures associated with the BPS Procurement Directives and associated internal corporate and sourcing/procurement policies and procedures.
  • Strategic development and expansion of the Redevelopment Program, including proposal creation, member onboarding and revenue tracking.
  • Development and implementation of performance measures, benchmarks, and staff performance appraisals.
  • Leadership of strategic contracting discussions with the G.P.O. or other entities such as SSOs.
  • Act as an ambassador for the mission, vision, values, and goals of Mohawk Medbuy Corporation.
  • Recruitment of personnel, management and addressing of employee requirements, providing guidance, counseling, communication, and engagement with entities (government, buying groups, etc.), troubleshooting, compiling stats, managing workload overall.
  • Strategic procurement planning and management, developing short and long-term goals, program development, project management, policy and process review/enforcement, meeting preparation and chair activities.
  • Contracting and RFx support, negotiations, language review, approving and signing of strategy to go to market, contracts, and non-competitive incidences, specific to construction industry contracts (CCDC, OAA, ACEC)
  • Consultation with and addressing issues with Members, suppliers and MMC internal parties.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Business management or related discipline degree or diploma, (BA or MBA) or equivalent related experience Certification or professional designation PMAC CPP, SCMP, or OPB or equivalent.
  • Will have diverse strategic sourcing, procurement and/or category management experience with a proven track record of managing larger and multiple concurrent complex sourcing categories.
  • Excellent RfX preparation and heightened contract management skills. Strong negotiator that can optimize results that are a “win-win” for all stakeholders. Must have managed complex sourcing activities with portability of skills.
  • Will have strong people leadership capabilities and a proven track record managing direct teams. Strong desire to mentor and coach a team within strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence for optimal business decisions and overall imperatives. An impact player who can gain the respect of and build relationships with key stakeholders within a company & healthcare environment as well as a vendor base.
  • Proven ability to assess business/requirement gaps, develop a strategy, gain stakeholders’ input at all levels and expand service offerings.
  • Innovative thinking: proven ability to connect ideas, events, and circumstances to find category management solutions to business problems or goals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, e-commerce, strategic sourcing processes, spend analytic tools, and automation.
  • Preferably 8+ years’ progressive strategic sourcing management experience with leadership capabilities to lead a direct team (healthcare experience would be an asset).

Technical Requirements

  • Excellent evaluation skills to analyze bids and make effective vendor recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, e-commerce, strategic sourcing processes, spend analytic tools, and automation.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
