We are in search of a Director of Accounting to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves overseeing a variety of accounting functions, from transaction recording and reconciliation to monthly journal entry approval and balance sheet reconciliation review. The Director of Accounting will also be responsible for managing accounting activities for two non-profit foundations, coordinating internal and external audit requests, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX financial controls.

• Supervise the recording of transactions and reconciliations related to cash, general accounting, and payroll
• Ensure adherence to monthly closing calendar deadlines
• Oversee monthly accounting activities for two non-profit foundations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting matters to the Executive Director of the foundations
• Review and coordinate internal and external audit requests
• Prepare and update SOPs as needed with continuous monitoring
• Ensure SOX financial controls in place are operating effectively, taking corrective action where needed
• Partner with internal and external auditors to maintain a strong internal control environment
• Demonstrate technical expertise and business acumen in the application of GAAP
• Monitor the productivity of accounting staff to ensure targets are met and provide necessary coaching, development, and training support.

• Experience with Shared Services, Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Financial Reconciliation, Cash Reconciliations
• Familiarity with Monthly Financial Reporting, Monthly Financial Close, Consolidated Financial, Consolidated Financial Statements.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role such as Director of Accounting
• Proficiency in Oracle ERP, Oracle Fusion, and Oracle Fusion Financials
• Proven experience with Concur, Shared Services, Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Financial Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Cash Reconciliations
• Experience in Monthly Financial Reporting and Monthly Financial Close
• Proficiency in dealing with Consolidated Financial and Consolidated Financial Statements
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
• CPA or related qualification is preferable
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
