Requirement for an experienced finance individual (VP) to provide support to the Heads of Shared Services and Service Management EMEA.
- Manage and maintain a robust control environment, to mitigate operational and reputational risk within the function.
- Act as a back-up for senior management by attending meetings such as the Operating Committee and Industry forums such as AFME/ICMA.
- Engage and manage interaction with internal and external Audit.
- Ability to pick up and run with key projects, understanding the requirements and working with relevant stakeholders to deliver them on time with minimal impact the BAU.
- Assist senior management in the production and presentation of management and performance data in areas such as Volumes, Capacity and Control.
- Ability to manage large data sets for submission to senior management and/or regulators.
- Effective incident management, including the coordination of the Operations response for major incidents where required.
- Partnering cross department to ensure Ops Resilience plans are documented and routinely tested in line with the PRA/FCA regulations for Important Business Services.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling the individual to liaise effectively and share information with Nomura senior management and other key stakeholders throughout the firm.
- Confidence to represent the department at any relevant internal or external meetings.
- A self motivator who is able to work proactively to identify opportunities for process improvement and/or and realising cost save.
- Good organizational skills and time management in order to be able to prioritize project deliverables.
- Must have good analytical skills and a strong attention to detail. The ability to question existing practises/procedures, ensuring efficiency and recognition of streamlining opportunities are all key.
- Good understanding of Fixed Income and Equities Markets, as well as OTC and FX. Some experience in vendor management would be useful.
