Narayana has a large finance team (400 + members including billing and accounting) engaged in operational activities. The Shared Services leader will be responsible for assessing the current maturity of each of these roles, envisaging whether there is a more efficient way of operating through centralization, digitization, automation or elimination and lead Narayana to an end state organization which is efficient, seamless and digital

Strategic Leadership and Governance

  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the Finance Shared Services aligned with the overall corporate strategy of the group.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including senior management, department heads, and external partners to align financial shared services with business objectives.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial transactions and reports.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to streamline financial operations and improve data accuracy.
  • Drive the adoption of automation tools and digital solutions to increase efficiency, reduce manual efforts, and enhance data integrity
  • Utilize advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights and support strategic initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions to enhance financial governance
  • Identify and manage financial risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the organization’s financial health.

Experience: Minimum 18 -25 years of experience in setting up/managing Finance Shared Services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Healthcare/ Pharma industry.

Educational Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (semi qualified or equivalent) OR MBA in Finance or related field is preferred.

Candidate Skills Required

  • Functional
    • Deep understanding of financial operations, preferably within the healthcare sector, including hospital billing, revenue cycle management, and healthcare regulations
    • Expertise in ERP systems (preferably, Oracle Fusion), automation tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Behavioral:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire large finance teams, driving performance and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
