The Head of GBS Strategy is responsible for developing, updating, and facilitating GBS strategic plans. This role is critical to the organization as it ensures alignment across strategy, goals, and annual plans, drives standard business practices for planning, agile, and continuous improvement across the department, and monitors the progress and business value of prioritized initiatives.

  • Develops, facilitates, and supports the development and maintenance of the GBS multi-year strategy. Responsible for ensuring alignment between strategy, department goals, and initiatives.
  • Creates and communicates a clear strategic vision for the business; provides ongoing updates to keep stakeholders aware of progress.
  • Owns the practices for Agile, strategic planning, and Continuous Improvement within GBS. Drives consistency of key business roles involved in these processes, develops best practices, and ensures ongoing development of the team; makes updates to operating model as business needs evolve.
  • Leads team of Experience Owners focused on GBS strategic initiatives; ensures team is executing and output of work is driving value as planned.
  • Drives the annual GBS planning process; coordinates and facilitates new intake requests, and the building of annual plans and IT portfolio. Supports the development of strong business cases and ability to validate progress and realize value.
  • Consolidates strategic plans across GBS and publishes for one view across the organization. Owns the monitoring of current year plans; provides readouts of progress and ensures business value is achieved.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7+ years of management consulting or strategic planning experience.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to deliver short term wins and value for the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and planning skills; ability to be innovative.
  • Proven ability to develop options and test and learn to define the best path forward.
  • Strong project management skills and working knowledge of Agile practices.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally; leveraging influencing skills to bring other’s along and evolving approach based on stakeholder feedback.
