The Finance Director is responsible for all financial management and operations as well as accounting functions while providing strong financial and operational leadership including effectively working with key stakeholders and leadership.

• Oversee day to day financial and accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and comply with statutory requirements
• Oversee and prepare analyses for Leadership to evaluate business performance, including:
  • Perform analysis of consolidated P&L results against budget and forecast targets and prior year results
  • Summarize key risks and opportunities and make recommendations
  • Identify cost and margin optimization opportunities
  • Prepare routine and special reports for senior management as necessary
• Lead the annual planning and budgeting process with Leadership, ensuring financial resources are properly aligned with EY’s goals and objectives
• Plan, develop and recommend best practices, procedures and controls to ensure the integrity of financial information is maintained
• Business Strategic Planning: Provide Leadership insights on potential financial issues. Recommend solutions that are in adherence with EY policies
• Build relationships and partner across enablement services to improve the process and quality of deliverables.
• Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate and scale the finance function
• Lead the finance team to deliver value to the business and contribute to growth

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and make sound decisions, initiate actions in response to situations as they arise, maintain high standards and able to bring in own experience within the industry
• Deep understanding of the business and financial performance drivers
• A successful track record of implementing and leading key business change initiatives

To qualify for the role you must have

• Have a professional qualification in accounting and is a member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA)
• Experience in large, multi-national corporations or professional services industry is an added advantage
• More than 12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting practices

Ideally, you’ll also have

• A general understanding of the local financial and economics market landscape
• Experience in driving transformation initiatives
• Experience in effectively building, leading, managing, and coaching finance professionals
