Under the direction of the Finance Shared Service Center Director, the Associate Director is responsible for continual process improvement efforts, training and development activities, and focused service delivery efforts to campus partners. This includes serving as the primary organization liaison on all strategic projects such as Jayhawks Elevate workgroups and leading organization high-priority projects. This individual is responsible for the coordination and management of SSC project activities to create defined responsibilities and achieve desired outcomes. The Associate Director will also be responsible for reporting activities in support of organization initiatives and goals as they relate to these projects and other strategic initiatives. The Associate Director will also be responsible for communicating with organization leadership to help make informed decisions. This role will also serve as a back-up to the Director.
The Associate Director will lead a service delivery team that includes one training coordinator and two analysts focused on: (1) SSC Talent Training and Development; (2) Building Campus Partnerships Through Ongoing Education and Organization Performance Reporting; (3) Driving Strategic Initiatives and Evaluating Their Viability and Effectiveness; (4) Developing and Implementing Improvements to support the organization’s vision and mission.
The successful incumbent will need to collaborate across all levels of leadership and staff and have exceptional communication and organizational skills. This position requires competencies in project management, reporting, organization analysis, creativity, the ability to establish influential collaborative partnerships and a broad knowledge base of the organization to bring ideas to actualization. This position can work remotely; however, some activities may necessitate in-person work.
Project Coordination and Management (30%)
- Work with organization leadership to coordinate project activities for Jayhawks Elevate and other high-priority projects.
- Review with organizational leadership that Jayhawks Elevate and high-priority projects responsibilities and outcomes are aligned with Service Level Agreements and other organization strategic plans.
- Identify, support, and implement organization responsibilities for Jayhawks Elevate and other high-priority projects.
- Provide on-going analysis, communication, reports and metrics regarding projects impact, timeline, resource needs, etc. to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
- Provide on-going analysis, communication, and metrics to organizational leadership regarding the SSC portion of the Finance Service Portal and impact to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Coordinate and analyze needs of the service delivery team and review with organizational leadership for strategic planning purposes.
Reporting & Communication (30%)
- Provide organization reports and analysis to leadership and campus partners on key performance indicators, service delivery, workload metrics, etc.
- Build customized reports and other dashboards for individual contributors and managers to support organizational goals and performance.
- Provide reporting and assistance in the budget collection process in coordination with organizational leadership.
- To help organize content and develop materials supporting Service Experience Council meetings and updates.
- Other Ad-hoc reporting as determined.
Training, Development, and Staff Supervision (30%):
- Supervise Training Coordinator and Service Delivery Analysts.
- Work with the Training Coordinator and Peer Training team to provide an exceptional onboarding and training experience for all new employees.
- Partner with the Training Coordinator and leadership team to create on-going educational opportunities that grow and professionally develop all team members.
- Work with analysts to create, analyze, and deliver organization performance reporting for leadership and campus partners.
Website and Finance Service Portal Updates and Maintenance (5%)

Required
- Master’s degree and three (3) years of related experience in the field or a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience in the field.
- Two years of direct supervisory experience in a professional setting.
Preferred
- Experience coordinating and managing multiple projects to ensure implementation deadlines are met.
- Experience working with leadership positions in strategic planning to achieve project outcomes and goals.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively in a variety of situations.
- Experience working with various groups and levels of positions.
