Join our dynamic team as the Associate Director of Corporate Operations and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare services. In this multifaceted position, you will support the Executive Director of Operations and Performance by providing strategic advice, leadership, and day-to-day operational management for all corporate services across the Local Health District.

You will collaborate closely with Hospital and Services Directors, HealthShare, and the Ministry of Health to ensure the delivery of high-quality, transaction-based services in a state-wide shared services model. With oversight of critical projects such as the outpatient framework, fleet management, and medical imaging operations, you will drive excellence and innovation.

The Associate Director Corporate Operations will support the Executive Director, Operations and Performance by providing strategic advice, assistance, and day-to-day operational management support for all corporate services across the Local Health District (LHD). The Associate Director, Corporate Services will work closely with the LHD Hospital Director’s of Corporate Services, Health Share and the Ministry of Health and will monitor the provision of expertise and transaction- based services in the state-wide shared services model. Specifically, the Associate Director of Corporate Services will be accountable and responsible for the outpatient’s framework project, fleet, and the medical imaging operations manager, as well holding the master security license for the LHD. The associate director will have oversight of the financial performance of the operations and performance directorate.

  • This is a multi -faceted role and will provide strategic direction, leadership, management and operational decision making with respect to all shared and corporate services within SWSLHD.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Director Operations and Performance to develop and implement functional and operational business plans and strategies for the LHD in alignment with overall State strategic plans and ensure a quality customer focus in service delivery.
  • Develop and oversee the Corporate Services Framework for SWSLHD Corporate Services. Support and drive the framework through role as chair of monthly Director of Corporate Services meetings and also through meetings with direct reports.
  • Maintain and enhance links between SWSLHD, Health Share and the Ministry of Health.
  • Monitor the terms of provision of expertise and transaction-based services in the state-wide shared services model in collaboration with HealthShare NSW.
  • Manage the corporate support functions of the LHD, which includes but is not limited too, security, general services, health information management, supply, dock management, retail, and clerical and administrative functions.
  • Comply with and Implement the NSW Health Risk Management Enterprise- Wide Policy and Frame work and ensure the effective identification, management, monitoring and reporting of corporate risks within the LHD.
  • Role model and lead a culture of excellence based on the organization’s values to ensure the organization delivers patient/client focused service in an adaptive, responsive and performance-oriented manner.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to the Executive Director, Operations and Performance related to the functional areas of Shared and Corporate Services.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the Performance and Operations directorate
  • Ensure data quality and reporting for Shared and Corporate Services
  • Participate in the District wide on-call roster providing senior leadership, direction and support after hours to SWSLHD facilities and services or as required

NPC

  • National Police Check (This check will be conducted by the Health Service for Recommended Candidates
    only).

Staff Health

  • Compliance with the SWSLHD and NSW Health, Staff Immunization – Occupational Assessment, Screening
    and Vaccination Policy.

Driver’s License

  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers License (excluding learner driver’s licenses). If not already in
    possession, a NSW Drivers License must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Understanding of Government policy, direction and political sensitivities, particularly in the area of shared and corporate services reform and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth and State health systems, both public and private sectors, with an understanding of the complexities and sensitivities associated with provision of health services.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in leading and managing the operational planning and delivery of corporate services in a large and complex client service environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to strategically analyse functions, services, systems and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and successfully implement these on time and budget.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in consulting, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to gain their input and commitment to reform.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and risk management skills which use creative and imaginative approaches to find innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop, the integration of systems and processes to improve service performance including managing change and successfully implementing improved work practices, business processes, IT systems and business models to deliver service improvements and/or cost savings.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including effective consultation and negotiation skills and an ability to lead and develop high performing teams in a complex and transforming multidisciplinary organization.

Learner’s licenses are not permitted.
