Terrible’s is seeking a highly skilled Controller – Financial Shared Services to join our amazing accounting team. This role will be primarily responsible for leading the general ledger accounting teams through the month-end close process and leading the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for management reporting.
- Own the financial close process, including coordination with all areas of the Financial Shared Service center to ensure close timelines are met.
- Oversight of the development of standardized operating procedures and service level targets for the general ledger area of the Financial Shared Service center.
- Manage, lead and inspire the supporting team, including setting goals, coaching and developing team members in general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Company’s external audit firm.
- Act as a change agent by identifying and implementing automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or a professional certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years in progressively responsible accounting leadership roles.
- Excellent analytical skills: detailed oriented but with the ability to focus with a broader perspective of the business.
- Outstanding judgment, including discretion in the management of confidential information.
- Superb oral and written communication skills while interacting with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to function as a team player that interacts with others at all levels to accomplish goals in an efficient, productive, and collaborative manner.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a forward-looking and proactive approach to resolutions.
- Excellent technical knowledge and proficiency in applicable accounting standards.
