The Strategic People & Culture Partner for Global Business Services is a key position within Warner Bros. Discovery’s People and Culture team. The position will partner with P&C and Business Unit leadership to grow and shape GBS into a world-class organization.

A successful candidate is respected for their competency in HR as well as business acumen. The leader will be a positive self-starter who can think strategically about big-picture business goals as well as support local teams tactically execute across a range of People & Culture initiatives. In this dynamic culture, the role will serve as the primary partner to the global HR community in support of the WBD GBS collaborative and be able to engage with colleagues across levels, locations, and disciplines. The role must effectively work in a fast-paced creative environment, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the function founded in sound strategy.

  • In partnership with the GBS Center Leadership and PMO team, understand the business priorities to develop and execute the People Strategy for GBS functions based in the Capability Centers in line with both WBD and business goals.
  • Ensure GBS is supported through an effective operating rhythm with the day-to-day delivery P&C Partners for GBS from each Capability Center. Include regional thinking in the creation of GBS P&C strategic plans reflecting the global population.
  • Coordinate with the P&C CoEs centrally to ensure that programming/initiatives (L&D, TA, Total Rewards) are created bearing in mind the Capability Center population (with its unique needs).
  • Partner with the International P&C leads in the Capability Centers to ensure that the GBS employee experience on the ground is coordinated effectively with other co-located functions and to reinforce the WBD OneTeam culture.
  • A core member of the GBS leadership team, contribute to the creation of business objectives through the lens of People & Culture and talent management.
  • Ensure the workforce, including current and future leaders, are equipped to be high performing, motivated to work in a continuously improving organization.
  • Strategically partner with P&C CoEs to provide support and guidance to the business including Staffing, Learning & Development, Change Management and Talent Development customizing materials where necessary to be relevant to the population.
  • Foster a global culture of inclusiveness, openness, and honesty within the organization along with championing organizational values and diversity.
  • Work with the executive leadership team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the objectives of the company.
  • Identify skills gaps through effective resource planning and provide up-skilling processes to bridge these gaps.
  • Continually strive to provide HR ‘best practices’ through information sharing internally and external benchmarking.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience supporting the US and International as an HR Business Partner
  • Expertise in creating people scorecards and using Human Capital data to drive business decisions
  • Expertise in Change Management (PROSCI or similar)
  • Flexible and agile with a comfort in managing work and teams spanning multiple time zones.
  • Comfortable working in a global, fast paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and supports leaders in being able to do this
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ideal candidate will have deep experience and success in leading a dynamic HR team across various regions and lines of business.
  • An executive committed to constantly refining and improving all areas of the organization.
  • High executive presence with the ability to exert influence within the organization by clearly expressing goals and initiatives that garner buy-in and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a competitive and changing business landscape. Must understand how to focus the organization on planning for tomorrow, not only on executing today.
  • Ability to pull from a variety of backgrounds including HRBP, OD, talent strategy, HR COEs, compensation, benefits and the business.
