The Mgr – GL Accounting (Shared Services) will be responsible for overseeing the day to day Finance & Accounting functions for an assigned group of GL Accountants in shared services to ensure compliance, timely and accurate journal entries and high quality Blackline account reconciliations.
- Manages the Blackline account reconciliation solution for shared services to ensure high quality reconciliations that are performed in a timely manner.
- Ensure all journal entries are reviewed/approved prior to entry into SAP.
- Manages the month-end close process for shared services to ensure deadlines are met and action plans are developed if any deadlines are not met.
- Responsible for setting the standard for shared services performance and continuously monitoring employee performance to ensure it meets or exceeds the standard.
- Leads the transition of new work to shared services from entities that go live on SAP or for new acquisitions.
- Leads and supervises teams, coach staff members, and provide ongoing written and verbal feedback.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
- 8+ years progressive financial services experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role preferred
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
