Oversee GL Accounting and Shared Services:

  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounting processes.
  • Oversee payables, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and accurate payments to vendors.
  • Process payroll to ensure timely and accurate compensation for all employees.

Budgeting:

  • Lead the company’s budgeting process, working closely with leadership to establish financial targets.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Provide key insights through financial planning and analysis, including variance analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial decisions align with the company’s strategic goals.

Treasury Management:

  • Manage treasury functions, including cash management and banking relationships, to optimize cash flow and working capital.

Audit Management:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and audits are completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and compliant with regulatory standards.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and local, state, and federal regulations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, driving operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the company remains compliant with evolving accounting standards and regulations.
  • CPA certification required with a minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably in logistics or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GL accounting, and shared services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead audit processes with external auditors.
  • Excellent proficiency with accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., V-lookups, pivot tables).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in a family-owned or mid-sized company environment is a plus.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
