The HR Director, Malaysia will provide HR partnership and leadership to multiple businesses and functions primarily located in Selangor and Penang. This leadership role sits within the APAC HR leadership team and focuses on developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Partner With Business/Country Leaders (25%):

  • Guide talent and career development, succession planning, and organization talent assessments.
  • Champion company values and culture to drive engagement, retention, effective communication, and trust.
  • Provide training and coaching to enable managers in all aspects of people leadership.
  • Support people-related aspects of business goals, initiatives, and strategies.
  • Consult on legal, employment casework, compliance-related activities, and investigations.
  • Track and analyze HR-related KPIs to drive engagement and development.
  • Be the champion for DE+I

With Associates (25%):

  • Understand associate needs and drive initiatives to increase engagement and retention.
  • Support and deliver programs and processes aligned with strategic HR priorities.
  • Facilitate successful engagement through new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate and deliver on-site associate learning programs.

With HR Organization (30%):

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers for effective talent attraction and recruitment.
  • Collaborate with the Center of Excellence (CoE) teams, primarily the talent management team and total rewards team in delivery best in class TM and TR solutions
  • Oversee and support transactional activities, HR system updates, compensation, benefits, talent management, etc.
  • Drive change and process improvements to better serve business priorities.
  • Participate in HR projects that deliver improvements across the HR service delivery at the site.
  • Partner effectively with the respective global HRBP’s in driving the functional agenda while balancing that with the regional HR practices

With Direct Reports (20%):

  • Coach, engage, and develop team members.
  • Lead employee relations, health and welfare policies, and HR policy development.
  • Ensure effective implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in HR, including 5+ years leading an HR team.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws and practices.
  • Fluent in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Have managed large multilocational H/C of >400
  • High ethical standards and integrity.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in managing HR for large shared services.
  • Experience living in multiple countries.
  • Multilingual proficiency.
  • Work experience in MNC’s
