This Director Financial Operations supports the AVP-Financial Operations in managing HCA Healthcare expanded shared services functions with annualized operations totaling $2.5 billion. The team is responsible for the financial management, performance measurement, and data & analytics functions across three service lines (Environmental Services, Food Services and Facilities Management).
- Guarantees accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all financial reports and records related to the expanded shared services organization.
- Assists the AVP of Financial Operations in the preparation of short- and long-range budgets, strategic plans, and monthly financial/operational reporting for Expanded Shared Services lines of business.
- Prepares detailed monthly budget variance reports to management in the review of financial/operational performance.
- Monitors and maintains key operational performance measures
- Key resource in educating the roll out of future financial tools for field teams
- Interprets and presents data for decision-making needs
- Recommends to leadership areas of improvement and assists in driving results
- Provides cost analytics for shared service operations and third-party engagement-specific profitability reviews
- Assists in the completion and/or review of financial justifications for operational business cases Coordinates all ad-hoc financial, operational, and datamining reporting requests
- Understanding of methodologies for performing financial and opportunity analysis of proposals Drives standardization in functional/departmental mappings in addition to adherence to the HCA chart of accounts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Masters degree preferred
- 7+years of progressive accounting/auditing/management experience, preferably in healthcare hospital setting
- CPA Preferred
- Ability to access, understand and explain operational/financial reports to assist in driving key strategic decisions with service line executives
- Knowledge of Excel functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, and graphs
- Experience in Business Objects/Essbase or similar software, Power Point, and relational data base
- Skill in analyzing financial statements to evaluate an organization’s fiscal health and locate causes of variance in business operations
