The Director of Shared Services leads, plans, and oversees the activities of the Accounts Payable, Treasury and Cash Management functions. The Director employs strategic vision in developing the function in support of ongoing business growth, delivering a scalable Shared Services function while developing the team.

  • Directs the responsibilities and deliverables of the Accounts Payable, Treasury and Cash Management teams, leading the overall Shared Services function
  • Manages direct reports, to include interviewing, hiring, developing, assigning, delegating and following through
  • Ensures team development and accountability; builds skill sets and ensures adequate cross training, efficient deployment of resources and continued professional growth and development.
  • Manages the performance of the team by conducting and reviewing periodic employee performance evaluations, creating and implementing professional development plans, when necessary
  • Leads the design, implementation and communication of the Shared Services roadmap to achieve operational excellence, organizational alignment and drives continuous improvement as well as an effective internal control structure
  • Responsible for evaluating, enhancing, implementing, and maintaining Shared Services systems and procedures
  • Responsible for annual external audit deliverables due from Shared Services
  • Develops, and updates as needed, a risk-assessed approach to implementing and maintaining an effective internal control structure
  • Identifies and champions process improvements across the team
  • Collaborates with accounting department leadership and staff to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Key and active participant in the maintenance, upgrade, and implementation of accounting systems and procedures, working to improve processes through existing software, software enhancements, and / or new software implementation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Required to work overtime as needed to meet accounting deadlines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related discipline
  • 7-10 years’ relevant experience in accounting shared services and treasury
  • Public company/SOX experience is a plus
  • 5+ years leading accounting shared services organizations
  • Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise system, D365 or similar experience a plus
  • Multi-unit, private club, hospitality or property management accounting experience strongly preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
