Responsible for day-to-day leadership of the core operating unit here at Avalon. Team and process leadership, decision making for key client and organizational issues, as well as workforce planning and process execution. Functional accountability for the delivery of our policy publication and configuration into our signature products. Managing the quality and efficiency of the operating functions and ensuring their compliance and performance with planned and required standards.
- Oversee the Scientific Affairs and Policy Operations and Enforcement departments
- Daily management of policy creation, translation, coding, editing, configuration, and publication of Avalon’s proprietary policies
- Development and monitoring of daily performance reporting
- Staff management and development across functions to grow skills and organizational competencies with operating discipline
- Lead the coordination of cross functional activities that involve multiple Avalon departments to achieve a goal
- Develop short range and long-range workforce plans and enablement tools for onboarding and scaling
- Operate within an agile framework that organizes around product with a need for operating excellence
- Manage the details and drive to close gaps in process and quality performance
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience overseeing an operational/production area in the healthcare industry
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or direct, applicable, equivalent experience
- Demonstrated superior skills in leading people in a matrix organization
- Back office and client-facing operations experience
- Demonstrated conflict and complex issue resolution
- Superior workforce and shared services experience in a matrixed operation
- Ability to influence across the organization
- Demonstrated executive presence and gravitas
- Highly analytical, critical thinking, and long-term strategy execution
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an early-stage, private-equity backed company
- Direct experience working in health plan operations
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
